A sunrise before a medical procedure became an unexpected reminder that beauty and pain often coexist. In seasons of suffering and loneliness, even small moments of light can help us hold onto hope.
On a recent walk, I watched a goose stand guard while her goslings foraged nearby—and felt a quiet ache for that same kind of protection in my own life. It opened up something I wasn’t expecting to write about: loneliness, faith, and a truth about myself I almost deleted before I could say it out loud.
Have you ever pushed through pain — physical, emotional, or spiritual — until it became too much to bear? I have. After a month of health challenges that tested me on every level, I learned something important about showing up for yourself even on the hardest days.
